Self-hosted Server

It is possible to run a self-hosted ServerBytes server via Docker.

To run ServerBytes server, download the official image:

docker pull serverbytes/server

ServerBytes uses MongoDB as a database, version 4.2.9-bionic.

Environment variables

Name Description
PluginInfoDownloader:Headers:ApplicationId The app key, as displayed on application details page.
PluginInfoDownloader:Headers:EnvironmentSecret The environment secret, as displayed on application details page.
PluginInfoDownloader:PluginsUrl Url of following format: https://api.serverbytes.net/apps/api/Apps/{app key}/Production/EnginePlugins
Environment The environment, usually "Production"
EnvironmentSecret The environment secret, as displayed on application details page
ConnectionStrings:ApplicationDb A connection string to mongo database

Ports

Port Description
8100 The default port for client applications
80 The default port for web interface

Example

docker start -p 8100:8100 -p 80:80 -e <specify environment variables here> serverbytes/server

Limitations

  • The self-hosted server is not horizontally scalable
